E maritime Actors Ship operation opportunities Research status overview Ship operation applications node Opportunities for implementation Cooperation potential

e-Maritime is defined as the use of information exchange technology to establish more efficient cooperation between the ship and the parties onshore, including ship operations, ports, authority functions, transport logistics and others, for the facilitation of maritime transport. The e-maritime definition establishes that the "ship" is the principal focus of the interactions between stakeholders, including certain functions that may be performed by organisations onshore. However, as well as information exchanges between the shore parties and the ship, these shore-based organisations will also interact between themselves to support ship operations, and these interactions can also be enhanced by e-maritime. European e-Maritime stakeholders

Main Actors The main actors involved in e-Maritime are coming mainly from the following three groups: Subject experts from research organisations and universities those who have to practically implement the procedures and processes that e-Maritime may affect, such as ship operators, ports operators, freight fforwarders; Classification societies; European Maritime Associations administration such as States; Flag States; EC, EMSA,etc., whose requirements may be more easily complied with using e-Maritime solutions. The e-Maritime Strategic Framework (EMSF); [December 2013]
