Summary for IP Phones New IP phones will replace current phones in CERN Store this year The current phones are still supported Chosen model will depend on the feedback We encourage you to participate in testing: Contact: pawel.grzywaczewski@cern.ch or giacomo.tenaglia@cern.ch On site – building 28 (check the phones’ features) On premise – get a phone for 2 weeks in your office
Softphones Phone devices are expensive Softphone provides enriched functionality Click to call from a browser (phonebook.cern.ch etc.) Integration with Outlook, SharePoint Use CERN fixed phone number from anywhere We recommend to use a softphone whenever it’s possible Windows and Mac Use a headset There are plans to decomission Alcatel phone system All analogue/digital phones migrated to VoIP technology Softphone will be the recommended solution
Softphones Identify cases where a softphone can be already proposed Encourage people in your department to use it Ask them to register to 1 hour presentation in CERN Training catalogue “Skype for Business – click to call and collaborate with others” Send us feedback when softphone can’t be used Ask people to fill the survey about the phone system http://cern.ch/tel-survey
Thank you! Questions?
