Multi-Purpose Lake Projects Philpott Lake John H. Kerr Lake W. Kerr Scott Lake Falls Lake B. Everett Jordan Lake Speaker: Cathy Multi-purpose Lakes which were built for Flood Risk Management, along with the associated missions of hydropower production, water storage, water quality management and environmental stewardship and recreation. Important to recognize that ALL the purposes of these multi-purpose projects have a variety of very interested and involved stakeholder groups working with us at all times. In particular our water mgmt team balances flood damage reduction needs with those of water quality and water storage. WILMINGTON is also the only District in SAD where the multi-purpose reservoirs are in many (4) watersheds. WE EFFECTIVELY DELIVER COORDINATED WATERSHED DECISIONS (Goal 2, example Kerr 216). Another interesting note, is that private interests are building and requesting to build hydropower add-ons to our projects after approval by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Flood Risk Management including Dam Safety Hydropower Water Supply Water Quality Recreation Environmental Stewardship
