A HISTORICAL GAME OF DISCOVERY IN UTRECHT

Welcome to “Utrecht Instituut voor Geschiedenis en cultuur” Utrecht Institute of History and Culture Master program in Medieval History and Culture in Utrecht 200 students from all over the world 90 percent of them are international students An interactive game that gives student insight to the history of Utrecht

Why history as a subject? Utrecht has a varied and interesting historical background There are many important Churches and historical buildings in the city centre Knowing Utrecht’s history would make students easily fit in the new environment

Essential necessities of students moving to Utrecht Health matter Transportations Supermarkets Emergency calls Bank account

How to manage their needs? We have history students... Utrecht has rich medieval history We know the essential needs of the students Combine these together and design a game

The Game

First Station-The Dom A coach dressed up as a bishop Task: Climb up the tower and take a photo Talk to the coach to receive a golden florin

Library Coach dressed in a monk outfit Task: Find a book, register and borrow it Show the coach the receipt and receive a golden coin
