Gidon Kremer -Born 27 Feb. 1947, Latvian violinist and conductor -in 1980, settled in Germany -from age 4, lesson from his father and grandfather who are both professional violinists. -study at Raga School of Music and with David Oistrakh at the Moscow Conservatory. -in 1970, first prize at the international Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow -wide-ranging of repertoire -Guarneri del Gesu(1730), Antonio Stradivari(1734), and Nicolo Amati(1641) -married three times: violinist Tatiana Grindenko, pianist Elena Bashkirova, and photographer Alexandra Kremer-Khomassouridze
