Artist Statement A brief essay statement about your art experiences, philosophy, styles and goals should go here. You may add a quote or small image that reinforces your position as a n artist. Maximize space for statement by keeping heading high, text small but readable, no fancy fonts! Answer the following questions to get you started: Why do you think art is important in education or personal time? How or why did you become interested in the arts? How would you characterize your style , technique or mediums? What common themes or messages does your work reflect on? What are your goals as a visual artist (may be specific to career or college goals?

Each page should have 1 artwork and a label box with: Personal Gallery starts here… 10 works minimum- 20 maximum. If you have a specific requirement for a college’s art dept. do some research to see what they will be looking for and follow that! Each page should have 1 artwork and a label box with: Artist Name Title (in italics) Medium used Size W x H

Artist Name Magazine Cover Design Adobe Photoshop CS4 8.5 x 11

Drawings from Life If you choose you can break your portfolio into artwork “types”, grouping them by similar qualities like drawing from life, or if you specialized in a particular medium, like photography or digital art. Elizabeth Layton Hair Cut Colored Pencil and Marker 11” x 14”

Working with Non-Traditional Materials Artist Name Photogram Mixed Media on Photo Paper 4 x 6

Katherine DiGiacomo Altered Book Mixed media 5” x 8” All 3-D work should be photographed from multiple angles (at least 3). If you have room on a page, and would like to include a small statement explaining a particular piece (maybe one that is complex, deals with unique subject/materials or is something you are particularly proud of), you can add a text box with a concise but significant write-up.
