TO STAY HEALTHY THIS COLD & FLU SEASON AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION TO STAY HEALTHY THIS COLD & FLU SEASON

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION WHAT IS THE FLU? THE FLU IS A CONTAGIOUS RESPIRATORY ILLNESS. IT CAN BE MILD OR SEVERE. PREVENTION IS KEY!

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN WITH SOAP AND WATER! ESPECIALLY AFTER COUGHING OR SNEEZING

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM: YOUR EYES, NOSE, AND MOUTH! GERMS ARE OFTEN SPREAD THIS WAY.

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION GOOD HEALTH HABITS: AVOID CLOSE CONTACT WITH ANYONE WHO IS SICK. GET PLENTY OF REST AND EXERCISE. CHOOSE WISELY AT MEAL TIME. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION

WHEN IS SICK TOO SICK FOR SCHOOL? AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION WHEN IS SICK TOO SICK FOR SCHOOL?

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION SEND ME TO SCHOOL IF… I have a runny nose or just a little cough, but no other symptoms. I haven’t taken any fever reducing medicine for 24 hours, and I haven’t had a fever during that time. I haven’t thrown up or had any diarrhea for 24 hours

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION KEEP ME AT HOME IF… I have had a temperature higher than 100.0 degrees. I’m throwing up or have multiple bouts of diarrhea. My eyes are pink and crusty. I have a suspicious rash.

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION CALL THE DOCTOR IF… I have a temperature higher than 100.0 degrees for more than two days. I’ve been throwing up or have diarrhea for more than two days. I’ve had the sniffles for more than a week, and they aren’t getting better. I have a cough illness lasting longer than 7-14 days. I still have asthma symptoms after using my asthma medicine (and call 911 if I’m having significant trouble breathing after using an inhaler).
