Identifying Issues and Areas of Focus Key concerns (potential areas of improvement) as perceived by managers and members of staff: Absence of clear career pathways, therefore, individuals not developed with next role in mind. Challenges in releasing staff to participate in intensive or long-term development activity, eg shadowing and secondments. Limited mobility across Faculties and Directorates (lack of awareness/understanding of opportunities outside immediate work area).

Parigen Equality & Diversity Diagnostic Report Consider post rotation. Support and encourage staff to apply for internal opportunities. Ensure Professional Services Staff have a voice. Consider opportunities to recognise achievements.

Short-term Actions Scheme to enable mobility. Support for career planning. Developing a community of Professional Services Staff.

Supporting Flexible Career Paths and Mobility Structured approach to planning and agreeing developmental activity: Job swaps. Secondments to support career development and to enhance job performance in current role. Role of SPRE.
