The courses are listed by topic area. You can choose to focus deeply in one or two areas or take a broader variety of courses. PRE-REQUISITE RULE A student is only allowed to enroll in a given ECE class when ALL pre-requisites have been passed with a grade of C or higher. Students enrolled in classes for which deficiencies are found will be dropped from the class roll.

TWO ATTEMPTS RULE No student may exceed a maximum of two attempts, excluding a W, to successfully complete any ECE course. Academic forgiveness does not give you an additional attempt. This rule is the most common reason students are prevented from finishing the ECE program and are forced to change majors. If a course is required in both EE and CpE, this rule prevents completion of either program. A variance request may lead to permission to have a third attempt in some cases.

GRADE POINT RATIO (GPR) RULE An overall GPR of at least 2.0 is required for graduation. An overall GPR of at least 2.0 is required for enrollment in junior and senior level engineering courses. ENGINEERING GPR (EGPR) RULE An overall EGPR of at least 2.0 is required for graduation. An overall EGPR of at least 2.0 is required for enrollment in junior and senior level ECE classes. A variance request may lead to permission to take a reduced number of ECE courses if GPR or EGPR is below 2.0.

FACULTY ADVISING Each student is assigned a faculty advisor. This assignment will remain the same until a student has only one semester remaining in their curriculum or unless the student chooses to change advisors for the purpose of obtaining advice related to a particular specialty. Students are required to meet with Patty for advising when they have "one semester to go." The primary purpose of the advisor is to assist the student in planning the academic program to be followed by that student. The faculty role is to provide advice; the ultimate decisions are the responsibility of the student. The student is responsible for seeking advice from his or her advisor at least once a semester, prior to registering for the next term. You will be notified when your advisor is assigned.
