Purpose To teach 5th grades the rules and general skills of basketball so they can play a 3 on 3 game.

Unit Goals Develop general skills of basketball in order to play a 3 v 3 game of basketball successfully.

Lesson Objectives Psychomotor- learn dribbling, passing, and shooting skills to play three on three game. Cognitive- learn rules of basketball. Affective- Learn good sportsmanship skills and develop evaluating skills by using peer rubrics.

Unit Introduction Brief discussion on history of basketball, show some media clips of famous basketball players like Michael Jordan- explain how hard they had to work.

Lesson Plans Day 1- Introduction Activity/Demonstration of Dribbling Skill/ Card Sharks Dribbling Day 2- Warm up with red light, green dribbling-Play dribbling activities using cones.
