The Key Stage 4 Curriculum at Christleton High School

This year Christleton High School achieved 72% 5 A This year Christleton High School achieved 72% 5 A*-C (incl Eng and Maths) This reflects the hard work of our Students, parents and teachers.

This year there is exam reform at GCSE and A level. Changing Landscape This year there is exam reform at GCSE and A level.

Changing Landscape GCSEs are becoming increasingly difficult. It has never been more important to not just get off to a flying start!

Key Changes All GCSE assessments are now linear. Exam opportunities in May /June. New specifications in most subjects.

New Grading System Most subjects will be graded on a scale of 1-9. (9 is highest grade) Business, Media, Classics, Product design and Electronics will continue using G – A* At the end of Y11 students will have a mixture of grades and numbers.

New Grading System

Controlled Assessments Some subjects will have Controlled Assessments which have replaced Coursework. Students will need to complete these in school. Tasks will be frequently changed. Teachers will still mark the work. CA can take place throughout the course.

Ebacc and Progress 8? These are ways that the Government is now comparing schools Ebacc –English, Maths, 2x science, language and either Geog or History
