NIGP Group Exemption By 2010 all chapters must maintain federal tax exemption ► Provided by NIGP through our group exemption; OR ► Maintain your own exemption If you chapter has its own exemption, you must: ► Provide NIGP a copy of your exempt determination letter Group exemption must be updated ever year Being part of the group exemption does not change your responsibility to file a yearly 990, 990EX or 990N Why do we have to do this now: All chapters are complying with regulations Now have the capacity to focus time on tax related issues Have always needed but now we are taking the steps to make it happen Belonging to NIGP is FREE Tax filing much easier Update Form will be sent you all with all the forms due to NIGP at one time: Officer data form, member data form, financial form, seminar agreement, group exemption as well as the insurance enrollment, Benefit to our chapters and will also allow you to apply for state tax exemption

Group Exemption: The Process Provide NIGP with: Chapter Affiliation Agreement Articles of Incorporation Constitution Bylaws Chapter mailing address Federal Employee Number Chapter officer contact information Last 3 years gross receipts September 2008 – Chapter beginning with A –N (completed by February 2009) April 2009 – Chapter beginning O-W (completed by February 2010)

The GCC Program provides suppliers who desire a greater awareness of public procurement processes and the government purchasing environment. NIGP encourages chapters to host these GCC courses during a chapter conference or as a stand alone event. This is a great way to earn revenue for the chapter while providing educational opportunities to the supplier community. NIGP will charge the chapter only $170 per person to host these courses. This me To earn the NIGP Government Contractor Certificate, an individual must complete 4 courses and one elective. Courses offered are as follows: The Four Core : Introduction and Concepts to Public Purchasing Legal Aspects Sourcing: Solicitation, Evaluation, Award Contract Administration for Suppliers  The Two Electives: RFP's-From Both Sides Government Sales Registration Fee for participants to attend is $330 per person per course. However, NIGP will charge the chapter only $170 per person in order for the chapter to also provide Food & beverage during the class. This is a potential for the chapter to receive $100 per for hosting the GCC courses.
