Optic Arts

Optic Arts Manufacturer of LED products. Customizable and easy to install Products used for interior design

Project Overview

Project Overview Photometric Walkthrough Mobile Application Room Building Application designed to: Generate a room Light modification through IES files Place LED lighting strips Computation of Calculation Points List of exact lights and lengths used are exported in PDF format for use by Optic Arts agents The purpose of this app is to translate Optic Arts agents visualize their ideas in a virtual room. This application will let user generate a virtual room, place lighting strips within the room, where each light is associated with an IES file. To put it simply, IES file is a virtual representation of how light will be displayed in a physical environment. This application will also need to display the calculation points throughout the room. Calc point is a numerical representation of how intense the light is at a single point. Once the agent is happy with their room, PWMA will output a PDF containing all of their project details.

IES

IES “Illuminating Engineering Society” Contains data on light for architectural programs that can simulate light Provides angles and points for how light bends and interacts with its surroundings Needs to be parsed to be used within a program

IES Tape, channel, driver, lens

Light Placement

Light Placement User will select two points in the room through the use of a touchscreen. The lighting strip will be placed in between the two points. The touchscreen provides terrible precision. An implementation of an invisible grid system allows accurate placement of lighting strips.

Light Placement Edit lights allow user to move lighting strips, apply a new IES, and remove the lighting strip. Origin movement on the left. Grid, edit lights. Edit lights allow user to move lighting strips, apply a new IES, and remove the lighting strip. Strip movement on the right.

Camera Perspectives

Camera Perspectives Four Cameras: First person camera perspective for light placement. Third person camera for exterior view of the virtual room. This view has two different camera angles. Top down view to allow user to visualize all placed lighting strips. Grid, edit lights. Side view allows the user to view the room from the sides.

Calculation Points

Calculation Points Represent intensity of light at a point in the room as a number. Visual aid for the designer Show how bright or dark an area of the room is Distributed throughout the room evenly Point values are calculated based on selected IES files Talk about what they are. What they are used for. Show what they look like.

Calculation Points Point has to be within the radius of a given light. Retrieves luminous intensity value from the IES file. Returns a numerical value for the lighting designer. Evenly distributed throughout the room.

Advanced Settings

Advanced Settings Adjust various settings Calculation points Grid size Light suspension height Overall fine tune the settings User input fields Project information Company details Contact information Gather information for summary page Screen shot of the advanced settings maybe two pics? And some details about it.

Project Estimate PDF

Project Estimate PDF Summarizes all of the lighting used in the room Contains all of the user information Saved to phone storage for later use Used by the company to generate a quote 2 photos. First of the pdf itself and the second of the pop when the pdf is created and some text to go with everything.
