Why Salamansa for kitesurfing? Salamansa is one of the world’s best beaches for competent kitesurfers who like the waves Of the top 50 top rated kitesurf beaches around the world (according to various on-line sources): Salamansa is in the top (together with Lancelin - Western Australia), Barra do Cunhau – Brazil, Mauritius, Peru, Maui and Bali beaches with waves on the world. Sal and BoaVista are not among the top-50 rated kitesurf spots in the world (they are both overcrowded) Salamansa is the only beach in São Vicente that is reasonably safe for kitesurfing Sandy beach Direction of the wind parallel to the beach & ending up slightly on-shore

Reef break with small waves Wind direction Cross-offshore wind. The wind is weaker around 2 knots than at the main beach and very gusty (called Fisherman’s bay). Main beach with beach break Cross-shore wind. Good for intermediate and advanced kitesurfers when waves are big. Good for beginners when waves are small.
