Transportation Survey General Information Survey was administered online in early November 2008 545 Individuals Surveyed 125 Faculty members, 14% of faculty 159 Staff members, 10% of staff 260 Students, 2.4% of students

Off Campus Students Daily Commute 60% of students live off campus 93% live within Moscow City Limits with a median commute of 1 mile 7% live outside Moscow City Limits with a median commute of 9.5 miles 32% commute by car or other motor vehicle

Faculty and Staff Daily Commute 72% live within Moscow City Limits with a median commute of 1.6 mile 28% live outside Moscow City Limits with a median commute of 9.75 miles 75% commute by car or other motor vehicle

Why Commute by Car? Off Campus Students Faculty and Staff Weather – 84% Time Management – 65% Distance – 35% Topography – 26% Dangers of walking/biking in traffic - 16% Personal Disability -16% Other repeat answers: laziness Faculty and Staff Weather – 59% Time Management – 62% Distance – 50% Topography – 19% Dangers of walking/biking in traffic - 18% Personal Disability -5% Other repeat answers: need to transport children, need to transport supplies, and lack of safety at night Multiple Answer Questions which is why percentages add up to more than 100%
