The big celebration on May On the 1st of May, in Greece we celebrate the start of the Spring, the blooming of the flowers and its also the worker’s day.

The Day before The kids start to gather flowers, in different colours, to make a ring of them and put them on their houses’s door or at they balcony for good luck. The parents buy meat because this is the food for the 1st of May.

During the day The kids and the parents are waking up late because the kids don’t have school and the parents don’t work. Mums are helping the kids to make the flower ring. People visit their relativs. And then all the family are eating toogether baked meat They are all dancing and singing traditional songs and then they are telling stories to each others.

CONCLUTION This celebration is so beautiful as for the kids as for the whole family! Smiles are getting into faces and all the family come closer! You can smell the coulorful flowers and feel the magic of Spring!<3
