Advocate Fundraise Educate Awareness Partner Our Role as Rotarians Rotary is the ONLY organization in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative that has citizens in nearly every country. We are uniquely positioned to use our voice in support of polio eradication. Using our voice – individually and collectively – to ensure the public and our elected officials are aware of the historic opportunity to end polio forever is an important way we can help achieve our goal of a polio free world. As Rotarians we can do three things: Advocate Fund Raise and Educate

DISTRICT DDF CONTRIBUTION Every dollar of DDF will be matched 50% by The Rotary Foundation’s World Fund and matched 2 to 1 (up to UD$35 million per year) by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. e.g.: Donate $15,000 DDF + $7,500 World Fund + $45,000 Gates Foundation = $67,500

CLUB DONATIONS TO POLIO FUND Every dollar donated by clubs will be matched 2 to 1 (up to UD$35 million per year) by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. e.g.: A Club Donates $2,680 + $5,360 Gates Foundation = $8,040

All Rotarians are invited to participate in history by supporting our End Polio Now: Make History Today campaign. Every US$1 dollar that Rotary commits in direct support for polio immunization (up to US$35 million per year) will be matched by an additional US$2 dollars from the Gates Foundation through 2018. In other words, each year that Rotary contributes US$35 million to polio eradication efforts, the Gates Foundation will contribute US$70 million to PolioPlus. This means contributions to Rotary’s PolioPlus program will have three times the impact. Rotary’s fundraising, paired with continued advocacy to donor governments will help secure the financial resources necessary for the success of the Polio Eradication and Endgame Strategic Plan. From 2013 to 2018, every US$1 Rotary commits to WHO and UNICEF in direct support for Polio immunization will be tripled (up to US$35 million per year) by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Data in WHO HQ as of 10 Jan 2012 20
