Kingdom Marriage (Session 2) by Tony Evans Teammates May 14, 2017 Lee Bennett
Honoring the Covenant of Marriage Married couples will enjoy God’s blessings and inheritance as long as they stay under the “umbrella” of His marriage covenant
Umbrella Challenge In teams of 2-3 couples, take 2 minutes and see how many words you can make from the word “Umbrella.” Ask someone to write them down.
Read “Umbrella Coverage” If you had known of the covenantal design of marriage when you were dating, what impact would that have had on your decision to marry? How do you know when you’re under the umbrella of God’s covering in your marriage?

I Cor. 11:3 “Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.” Did you know that God works through a chain of command? What does this have to do with us?
Dr. Evans says that the way we handle God’s covenant rules will affect our families for 3-4 generations. How have you had to deal with these generational consequences/benefits in your marriage and family?
Goliath’s in our lives/marriages? Have you had to face some already? How did you do? Are there lessons learned to carry over to the new challenges? What might those be?
Homework Read Malachi 2:10-17. What would it mean to deal “treacherously” with your spouse? What happens in a marriage when divorce is taken off the table?
Next week: “Embracing the unity of Marriage” Chaplain Jack Lea will be leading our session next week
