Start working on openers immediately so class can start within five minutes of the bell. Openers will be graded from time to time. Work should be turned in on its due date or ready to check at the beginning of class. 1 – 5 subject notebook ______ Math textbook _____ Math folder ______ Pencil bag with pencils, pens, colored pencils, scissors, glue __ grades late work Items are considered late if turned in after the teacher’s due date. Highest grade on a late assignment is a 70%. Daily work received after 2 weeks beyond due date will not be accepted. Every attempt should be made to turn homework in on time. Students and parents can keep track of grades and incomplete work through the parent/student portal on the Scottsbluff Public Schools website. Students also have the opportunity to take advantage of after school tutoring. Tutoring is available Monday thru Thursday till 3:55 with designated teachers. 70% 30% Tests / Quizzes Daily Work

Redo’s Tardy vs. Absent PBS – Positive Behavior Support celebrations 10th period PBS – Positive Behavior Support 10th period is an intervention time that takes place after school and involves the teacher and the student. Teachers can ask students to attend 10th period for a variety of reasons, i.e...behavior, coming unprepared to class, missing work, for any type of positive reasons, etc… Depending on the situation, 10th period usually doesn’t take longer than 3-5 minutes. Be Safe – enter and exit the classroom safely - keep hands and feet to yourself - use supplies appropriately Be Respectful – listen when the teacher or a classmate is speaking - raise your hand to speak - stay on task without disturbing or distracting others - no put downs or complaining - use manners - have a positive attitude Be Responsible - be on time - be prepared for class with the appropriate materials - always try - positively participate in class - complete all assigned work on time Redo’s Each student has the opportunity to redo any daily assignment that was turned in on time. These assignments can be redone outside of class (at home) and then handed in anytime within the quarter to improve their grade. Redo’s on assessments will be at the teacher’s discretion and completed during school hours. Assessment redo’s CAN NOT be completed at home. celebrations Tardy vs. Absent In 6th grade, we have a variety of celebrations. These are linked to either grades or behaviors and happen toward the end of every quarter (4 per year). in order for students to be eligible, they will need to have 70% and/or higher in their classes and no missing assignments. eligibility consists of no LLR’s and/or office referrals for a nine week period. A student late to class within the first 15 minutes of class will be counted tardy. A student missing more than 15 minutes of class will be counted absent. You will be considered tardy if you are not in the classroom when the bell rings. If you are late because you were talking to another teacher/administrator, you MUST bring a written note signed by that adult. UP Day PBS Students are expected to use the restroom and get a drink during their passing time. Each student will be given a hall pass each 9 weeks to use for the restroom or their locker. If a pass has been used but a student needs to leave, that student will be required to show up for 10th period and make up missed time. If a student does not use their hall pass during a quarter, it will be worth extra credit.
