Dining Room Manners Speak in low voices Only one person speaks at a time, while everyone else listens Be engaged! Join the conversation Lively debate is good Don’t yell over to the neighbor’s house- they’re dining too! Head of group sits at head of the table

Read chapter 7, discuss the questions and separately record answers in Writer’s Notebooks Why does Napoleon order that the hens’ eggs be sold? What happens when the hens rebel? Why do apparently innocent animals confess to being traitors? How do the animals react to the executions? Who does Boxer blame for the executions? What does he vow to do?

Read chapter 8, discuss the questions and separately record answers in Writer’s Notebooks What other names are given to Napoleon? What is your reaction to these titles? Explain. Describe the scandal surrounding the sale of the wood pile. Give your interpretation of the changing stories involving Pilkington and Frederick. How does another Commandment change at the end of the chapter? Explain the importance.
