Bandwidth Websites like Speedtest.net can test your locations external internet speeds. In the case of viewing remotely we are looking mainly at the locations upload speeds. We suggest between 5 Mbp/s – 8 Mbp/s upload speed per viewer for the best viewing. Viewing remotely can be viewed in Main Stream or in Sub Stream Main Stream will use a higher Bit Rate in return more bandwidth Sub Stream will use a lower Bit Rate meaning lower bandwidth usage but will cause a slight degrade in quality mainly when digitally zooming.

Networking Uniview

Uniview Network Menu Uniview networking can be done on the recorder on over the web browser. Some recorders have two NIC ports and can be switched in the networking menu. Recorders with built in PoE can have the IP address managed here as well.

PoE Settings Built in PoE units have a different IP scheme then the rest of the network. This is done so that the recorder can be Plug-and-Play. This network scheme can be changed in the networking menu but normally will not have to be changed and is better to leave default. This IP CAN NOT be changed to be on the same network as the LAN. Built in PoE Recorders have a different/separated NIC port for the LAN network to be plugged into. 3rd party cameras can be used in the built in PoE Ports by setting the camera to DHCP before plugging it into the built in switch.

Ports & Port Mapping Uniview recorders require 3 ports to be opened. • HTTP:80 • Media:7070 and • SDK:6060 Uniview Cameras require 2 ports to be opened. • HTTP:80 • RTSP:554 Uniview also has a “Port Mapping” menu. This is normally used for routers that have UPnP enabled. It also allows for the use of different external ports than internal ports. For standard port forwarding External Ports have to be changed to match the Internal ports before they will display as opened. Ports can not be changed to match unless UPnP is turned off.

Port Forwarding Uniview recorders require 3 ports to be opened. • HTTP:80 • Media:7070 and • SDK:6060 Uniview Cameras require 2 ports to be opened. • HTTP:80 • RTSP:554 All routers will ask for a Internal and an External Port (or set) to forward. Along with the protocol (always TCP for our recorders) and local IP address to open the ports for. Some routers will ask for a name, description, or comment. Some routers will also have an “Enabled” check box.

DDNS Uniview Offers EZDDNS via the EZCloud. EZDDNS does not need an account and is very simple to set up. DH Vision offers an DDNS via DHDDNS.Org. DHDDNS requires an account that can be set up by talking to an DH Vision Tech. DHDDNS uses the DynDNS server type. The only reason to use DHDDNS over EZDDNS is to have a list of all DDNSs along with last time updated.

Uniview EZCloud

Setting up Cloud Account http://en.ezcloud.uniview.com Registering an account can be done via the cell phone and via the web browser. Each email can only be registered to the cloud one time. We suggest setting up an main account for your company to add all of the recorders that are installed, for easy management. Then make an account for your customer with their own email and share the device to their account from your account.

Adding a device to the Cloud Using the EZView phone app is the simplest way to add a recorder to a cloud account. In the device manager one logged into the cloud select “Add P2P Device” at the bottom and then scan the QR Code on the recorder. A device can also be added to the cloud by manually typing the 26 character registration code on the website or on the EZStation. Once registered the recorder will then show that the device is online, along with what account the device has been registered to and what the name of the device on the cloud is.

EZCloud Access

Adding Cameras Recorders with built in PoE will always show 8 cameras connected. They can be changed from Plug-and-Play cameras to external cameras. 3rd party cameras such as Dahua can be used in the Plug-and-Play ports but will have to be first set up on DHCP, and have all settings such as motion and encodes set up prior to plugging them in. When manually adding a 3rd party camera the Protocol will need to be set as ONVIF and you will need to know the cameras HTTP port.

Scheduling / Manual Recording Manual recording can cause the recorder to record all of the time and not via the schedule even if set to motion.
