Environmental analysis technology Credits: 2 Teaching material: 《ENVIRONMENTAL APPLICATIONS OF INSTRUMENTAL CHEMICAL ANALYSIS》 Reference book: 《Principle of Instrumental Analysis》 Lectures + experiments

Environmental analysis technology water pollution solid waste Acid rain forest destruction Factory waste gas

Environmental analysis technology Human survival and development, it is necessary to protect and improve our environment, protect our homes.

Air Water Soil

Air Pollution Environmental analysis technology be stuck in the trouble of fog and haze 雾霾 looks like a tulle on the top of the picture Cities hit hard by smog

Water pollution Environmental analysis technology Feng Chan River nearby In Village Yao, 2mk away, give off nasty smell with dark or green colour

Soil Pollution Environmental analysis technology radioactivity Big Bang in Binhai, Tianjin The Soil was polluted by dangerous Chemicals

Importance of environmental protection Environmental analysis technology Importance of environmental protection Due to the pressures of population and technology, the biophysical environment is being degraded, sometimes permanently. Environmental protection means that human beings consciously protect and reasonably make use of natural resources and prevent natural environment from pollution and destruction.

Environmental analysis technology To the environment that has been polluted and destroyed comprehensive management measures have to be taken to create an environment suitable for human life and work. Meanwhile, environment protection has the meaning of the general terms of all kinds of actions taken by human in order to solve the practical or potential environmental issues, coordinate the relationship between human and environment, and ensure a sustainable economic and social development.

Environmental monitoring Environmental analysis technology Environmental monitoring Environmental monitoring describes the processes and activities that need to take place to characterize and monitor the quality of the environment. Environmental monitoring is used in the preparation of environmental impact assessments, as well as in many circumstances in which human activities carry a risk of harmful effects on the natural environment. All monitoring strategies and programs are often designed to establish the current status of an environment or to establish trends in environmental parameters.

Environmental analysis technology As the development of the current science and technology, professional instruments are needed to monitor the environment. In this semester, this course is devoted to the analyses of water and soil. If time permits, we are also going to analyze the PM2.5 in the atmosphere.

other specific settings. Environmental analysis technology Environmental analysis is the use of analytical chemistry and other techniques to study the environment. The purpose  commonly to monitor and study the levels of pollutants in the atmosphere, rivers and  other specific settings.

Environmental analysis technology Future Plan 1. Teaching basic principle of the related instruments, eg. FTIR, ICP, HPLC. 2. Making environmental monitor by advance techniques in teams eg. taking drinking water, polluted water, soil or solid waste as our sample. 3. Monitoring air quality by testing the PM2.5 of the atmosphere.
