The Cuban Missile Crisis The Closest we ever came to a Nuclear Apocalypse 1) 1962 - CIA Learns missile launchers being built We respond with Naval Quarantine - blocking all boats around Cuba 2) Kennedy vs. Nikita Krushchev For 14 days, world stood still as harsh words exchanged threatening nuclear warfare We both had 1,000+ Nukes!!!! ?!!?!?!?! 3) Resolution: They removed missiles from Cuba, we removed missiles from Turkey 4) Consequences: Khrushchev replaced.. seen as weak for retreating Russia builds up more arms...
