Overview of International Student Support: Immigration and UCD Global Lounge

Meet the International Student Support Team Assistant Director – Global Relations and Partnerships International Student Advisor International Relations Manager Student Support Administrative Officer Student Support Assistant

Student Adviser in UCD International Student Advisers – 12 in total across programmes/cohorts Open Door policy where possible – primary role is to be available on a one-to one basis for students Extensive Immigration Support Pre-arrival contact with students Orientation – Cultural Adjustment/Immigration Talks Listen and advise – helps explain policies and regulations, works closely with other units Advice on Financial Supports, Withdrawal, Leave of Absence, Extenuating Circumstances Advocacy e.g. when there is a disciplinary hearing

Bespoke events programme “Hub” for International Orientation programme Study Abroad and Exchange Information sessions International music workshops e.g. Gamelan & Traditional Tin Whistle National Day Celebrations e.g. Chinese New Year, Australia Day Themed Celebrations e.g. Tapas evenings, Thanksgiving etc Social events including movie nights, Open mic evenings and Ceili’s!

4. Integration UCD Global Lounge has welcomed over 30,000 students and visitors to 400 events since it opened in January 2011.
