Automating ‘non-ERP’ functions ‘Non-ERP’ functions: Process-centric Sales / CRM Legal / Contract Management Facility Management / Case management &Inspections ‘What do I see when I log on, in the morning starting my work’ Sales: Entering information about prospects, leads and have staff following them up. Legal: Have legal staff look at agreements, have them authorized them or let them make contracts, for instance as part of the onboarding of suppliers. In JD Edwards, it is difficult to enforce a workflow for these activities. And to automate the paperwork that is involved. You can try to customize JD Edwards and fit it in somehow. Obviously, also ERP functions could be enhanced when working with workflow. In the latest releases, watchlists have enabled triggers on tasks and enabled a base workflow structure in JDE. These functions are not looking for the rigid, relatively complex columnar screens JD Edwards offers. They only make limited use of the information in JDE and put limited information into JDE.
