Volcanoes The plates rub each other and it makes magma. After that the pressure builds up and makes a volcano. Mt.Tamora was the largest volcano eruption ever. In 1815 Mt.Tamora shot ash and gas about 45 kilometers. The area around the Pacific Ocean is called Ring of Fire. This area is very active. A volcano has gas bubbles and melted rock mixed together.

Earthquakes Earthquakes are sudden movement in earth’s crust. The Indian Ocean had a huge earthquake in December 26, 2004. The earth quake was under the water, witch caused a tsunami. It measured 9.0 on the Richard scale. In some places earth moved, or shock for ten minutes. The earthquake was over an area where one plate moved under another. One plate rose up several feet.

Volcanoes and Earthquake Earthquakes are similar to Volcanoes. They both are caused by plate tectonics and destroy any thing in its way. People can be ready when they see smoke or any kind of action from a volcano. This is a picture of what happens when a earthquake occurs. This is a diagram of a volcano and how it works
