The Basics Golf is a great game, however it is not conducive to play in a gym. Thus why we play using basketballs. The same rules of golf will apply as we will get into in a moment As in most performance activities we do, using proper technique will ensure better performance.
What we are learning…. Basic rules of golf The BEEF principal in shooting a basketball Working with integers Learning about average (par) and other basic mathematic terminology and procedures.
Must have Terminology: Par – average score that it should take you to complete a hole. All scores will be based off of this number. Birdie – 1 shot under par Eagle – 2 shots under par Bogey – 1 shot over par Double Bogey – 2 shots over par Triple Bogey – 3 shots over par
Terminology Continued…. Ace – Taking one shot to complete the hole Integer – a number that is either positive or negative Average – in relation to golf, it is par B.E.E.F- shooting principal to ensure proper technique of shooting a basketball
Tee it up… The person with the lowest score on the previous hole shoots first (if this is first tee, you can do paper rock and scissors to determine leader) Each shooter will shoot until they make their shot. We have a quadruple bogey (+4) limit
Finishing your round… Once a round is finished, All 4 players in your group must sign off on the score card to attest that the score keeper has things correct. Turn your score card in to Coach Martin upon completion.
