QATAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL KEY STAGE 4 PATHWAYS and IGCSE Options

QATAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Qualifications Year 10 + 11 = A two year course which ends with IGCSE qualifications Year 12 = A one year course which ends with an As Level qualification (students choose 4 subjects only) Year 13 = A one year course which end with an A level qualification (students choose 4 subjects. Not all universities require this qualification).

Equivalency Requirements - Qatar QATAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Equivalency Requirements - Qatar Minimum requirement: 5 IGCSE and 2 AS qualifications with 75% average grade Calculation A* & A=95%, B=85%, C=75% D=65% and E=55% - average 7 qualifications Only major subjects considered i.e. English, Math, Science’s, D & T, ICT, Business etc. PE and 2nd language subjects not considered major subjects The qualifications expire after two years Note: First Language Arabic and Islamic Studies compulsory under national curriculum

Equivalency Requirements - Egypt QATAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Equivalency Requirements - Egypt Minimum requirement: Egyptian universities and Ministry of Education require passes in 8 IGCSE subjects grades A-C Should include First Language Arabic and a social science Some universities will substitute First Language Arabic with a university Arabic entrance course No core subjects accepted – must be extended If you are applying to faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Engineering, Computer Science and Information must: requires a minimum of one A Level in addition to the required eight IGCSE subjects at grade C or above. There will be subject-specific requirements for entry to these faculties; students are advised to check with the university i.e. Sciences & Math

Equivalency Requirements - Jordan QATAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Equivalency Requirements - Jordan Minimum requirement: Proof that you have completed 12 years of studies. Must complete 8 IGCSE subjects and 2 AL subjects. Must pass at least 6 IGCSE, 2 AS and 1 AL subjects. 2 AS can equal 1 AL Passing grade is A-D at IGCSE and A-E at AS and AL. Arabic should be 1 of the 8 IGCSE subjects (can include Arabic, Classical Arabic, Arabic Language or Arabic First Language – Edexcel or CIE). Scientific Stream – 6 passing IGCSE including 2 science subjects & 1 Arabic, 2 AS subjects including Math or Physics and either Chemistry or Biology. Literary Stream – 6 passing IGCSE including Maths & 1 in Computer Studies or Information Technology, 2 AS subjects to include Arabic and literary subject or any two literary subjects.
