National Data
National Data Every 12.95 minutes an American dies by suicide. On average 117 suicides per day. 42,773 Americans died by suicide in 2015. Over one million people die annually by suicide globally.
National Data It is estimated that 1 million Americans attempt suicide every year. Research shows that for every suicide there are 25 suicide attempts.

Texas Data More than twice as many people die by suicide in Texas annually than by homicide.
Local Data Suicide has been the third leading cause of death in Tarrant county from 2011 to 2015. We see the same trends nationally and state wide with twice as many suicides compared to the homicide rates.
