MAGpie Reboot: CADET Caption And Description Editing Tool New, Free Caption-Authoring Software Bryan Gould Carl and Ruth Shapiro Family National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM) WGBH Educational Foundation http://ncam.wgbh.org
Captions The majority of online videos are self-generated, with original content that is not accessible to millions of people who are deaf or hard of hearing because the videos are not captioned.
Captions Federal regulations and related litigation will continue to dramatically increase the number of online videos that are required to be captioned, with high-quality captions. Automated speech-to-text captioning does not provide reliable access. No simple, inexpensive caption-editing software for creating quality post-production online captions.
Captions The National Center for Accessible Media at WGBH (NCAM) is developing CADET (Caption and Description Editing Tool), a free, downloadable caption authoring software application.
