Takeaway Textiles Homework – Year 7 CREATE YOUR OWN HOMEWORK… If you have an idea of a homework that you would prefer to try, check with your teacher first and then go for it! STARTER Design a Health and Safety poster for the Textiles room. This must show rules that need to be followed. Design your own ‘Corsa C’mon soft toy. Label it in detail and include swatches of fabric if possible. Colour it in neatly! Takeaway Textiles Homework – Year 7 You will be asked to complete 2 homework's from this menu. You can choose any 2 but you MUST try at least 1 with a blue or red button! The button rating suggests the difficulty or challenge the homework may offer. HELP ZONE—If you need support with any of the tasks, Find your teacher in advance. Use homework club, Pinterest, Youtube, Google, Local library, School Library, Books, Magazines to help with your research. WHAT’S ON OFFER? MAIN Create a mind map of all the soft furnishings in your house on A5 paper. To stretch yourself do the above and then Choose 1 room and try and total up the cost for all items from that room. Make something textile based at home. You can knit or sew it but you must take photos of you making it and present these and a final image on an A5 sheet of paper. DESSERT Look into the meanings of REDUCE, RECYLE, REUSE, RETHINK, REPAIR, REFUSE. Find out what they mean and think about how you could reuse clothes in your house. Show examples in an A5 leaflet. Look at YouTube clips on how to make Fused plastic fabric. Produce a wallet for your sketch pad from fused plastic . You can add sweet wrappers, crisp packets or any other plastics to create a unique piece of fabric that can be stitched on by hand or machine. You could add your name in stitching! Remember to protect your iron from the plastic with parchment paper! Easy Medium Difficult
