What is ECTS? European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System: http://www.enic-naric.net/ects---european-credit- transfer-and-accumulation-system.aspx Volume of learning: 1 ECTS = 26 hours of work, both lectures and independent work
BA and MA level curriculums BA level: 180 ECTS (nominal study period: 3 years, eg. 6 semesters) MA level: 120 ECTS (nominal study period: 2 years, eg. 4 semesters) NB! BA level courses begin with a 6 and MA level courses with a 7 In order to graduate a students needs to fulfill the curriculum. Randomly gathered credits that do not belong to the curriculum do not count.
Credits in the 1st semester In the 1st semester students need to add at least 23 credits to the study plan and by the end of the autumn semester they need to pass at least 15 credits If a student has less than 15 credits by the end of 21.01.2017, they will be deleted from the matriculation registry NB! Re-exams and re-assessments taken in the intermediate week are considered into the study load of spring, not autumn
Study load: full time and part time studies In order to stay studying as a full-time student a student needs to have at least 45 curricular credits by the end of study year In order to stay studying as a part-time studies student needs at least 30 curricular credits by the end of the study year Study load is calculated once a year during the summer break
Information systems - ÕIS-2: Study Information System https://ois2.tlu.ee/tluois/uus_ois2.tud_leht ASIO (each Campus house has its own name, the first letter is reflected in ASIO and the first number indicates the floor (for example M213: Mare building, 2nd floor) In ASIO you see your timetable when searching according to your course code and number 1 (1st year students) NB! Law students in Tallinn – see the light green lectures in the timetable!

Submitting the study plan: 28.08.2017-11.09.2017 The study plan is submitted for one semester. Students need to choose the courses that are in their nominal divison Ensure to submit before 11.09.2017 – the system will be very slow on the last day
Exams and assessments Students must register to exams and assessment in ÕIS at least 24h before the exam / assessment Students who haven’t registered will not be allowed to the exam / assessment Exams and assessments can both be taken twice (one time at the main exam/assessment, second time at the re-take). There are two main dates that students can choose from for exams and one main date for assessments. Re-exams take place in the intermediate week of the following semester
Evaluation assessments Exams are evaulated on the following scale: positive results A, B, C, D, E; negative result: F Assessment are evaluated on the following scale: P (pass), MA (negative, not passed) MI – not shown up (if a student doesn’t show up or doesn’t register to the exam) If a student fails a compulsory course for the 2nd time he or she will be expelled Individual agreements with lecturers about exam/assessment dates that are not in ÕIS are not allowed
38 credit rule If a student has more than 1 negative result in his or her study results he or she may not register to more than 38 credits per semester Negative results are F, MA, MI
Paying the tuiton fee Tuition fee deadline is the 25th, bill is submitted 7 days before. If the payment does not arrive by the set deadline, deletion from the matriculation register will follow
