Because I like office work. Because I would like to be a brand manager, like my mum. Because I aspire to become an entrepreneur one day. I like marketing / finance / accounting a lot. FEB Zagreb can give me the best knowledge in the area of economics… To learn something about our society. To learn how to make money.

Because I like the diversity in this Faculty. Because I know it will help me to achieve my goals. It is a faculty that gives you many chances to explore what to do in your life. Economics is the key to success.

READING PROCEDURE PREVIEW WHY ECONOMICS? (READ THE HEADLINE AND THE LEAD) what do you already know about the subject? (economics courses, news reports, books, magazines…) check out subtitles, author, source, visuals try to anticipate the main idea(s), the thesis which economic terms do you expect to find in this text?

2. SKIM WHY ECONOMICS? (get the main ideas) read the topic sentences RB 77 what is the main idea? can you identify 2-3 main arguments / ideas? can you formulate these ideas in your words? a couple of words that summarize the pg.? III Skim the text on pp 17-18 and match paragraphs with headings
