Young Leaders Assistant Facilitator (Freelance) The role will assist Storyhouse Youth Projects Manager with the delivery of weekly sessions of the Young Leaders Programme.

Find out more at www.storyhouse.com Storyhouse Young Leaders Programme is for 14-25-year-olds who want to gain an insight and experience of working in the arts / cultural sector. Your role, alongside Storyhouse Youth Projects Manager, is to support young people’s personal and professional development through the programme. The role will suit those with some experience in working with young people, particularly supporting work experience, and looking to further their project work. Experience – could have : Experience of working in an arts or culture setting with 14-25 year olds Experience of motivating young people Experience working with vulnerable young people Experience of a similar role either paid or voluntary Experience of delivering Arts Award Skills – should have – Ability to work with young people to develop confidence, working with others, decision making, communication skills, customer service and motivation An excellent mediator Able to communicate with and relate to a wide range of people Positivity and enthusiasm Trained Arts Award Advisor or knowledge of Arts Award delivery Knowledge of customer service or marketing or production management, or performance, or cinema Grosvenor Park Young Company, What the Walls Saw, 2015
responsibilities Work with and support Storyhouse staff in the delivery of masterclasses to the Young Leaders. Be one-to-one support for Young Leaders with SEN or on EHC plans. Encourage the Young Leaders to engage in other Storyhouse activities. Undertake administration duties relating to Young Leaders Programme. Ensure a safe working environment for all Young Leaders and volunteers supporting the groups. Be an advocate for the Young Leaders programme. Assist with the delivery of the weekly Young Leader sessions on Mondays for 14-17 year olds and Thursdays for 18-25 year olds, 5pm – 8pm. Work closely with our Youth Projects Manager on the session plans and group project designs. Assist with the delivery of Arts Award Bronze and Silver. Support the progress of the young people through the Young Leaders programme and advise on their career development from volunteering to apprenticeships and employment. Comply with all company governance and policies to avoid risks and minimise company liability. Report to the Youth Projects Manager any child protection issues or concerns. Undertake any other relevant duties as may, from time to time, be required by Storyhouse. The role will start on 15 and 18 May 2017 for one-off Young Leaders recruitment workshops. The regular weekly Young Leaders sessions will commence on Monday 5 June and Thursday 8 June 2017.
This is a freelance contract over 18 weeks.
