Nutrition-Congregate Meals Served at the Senior Activity Centers (SAC) Monday-Friday. Those 60 years and over make a donation. Meals are available for anyone under 60, but they must pay the full cost ($6.) People make a meal reservation by noon the day before in order to eat at a SAC. In FY2015, 1183 people were served and 18,762 meals were served through the program. Monthly menu meets nutritional standards set by the Maryland Department of Aging. Meals are prepared by a contractual caterer who has a 1 year contract with 2 option years. Contract is bid out at least every 3 years.

Nutrition-Home Delivered Meals Provides good nutrition, a well-fare check and opportunity for socialization for seniors who are often isolated. Served to homebound seniors 60+ years of age. Must not be driving or using public transportation. Must qualify through an in-home assessment process. No financial qualifiers. Daily (M-F) delivery of a ready to eat meal or 1 delivery/week of 5 frozen meals. Average # served: 220-230 people. In FY2015, 48,600 meals were served through the program. Donations from clients help support the program as do county, state and federal funds. Program supported by many volunteers who deliver meals as 12 routes are delivered throughout the county daily.
