2017 High School National Drill Competition

HOW DID WE GET HERE? The Cadets set a goal earlier in the school year Opportunity presented itself to receive $3,000 grant from HQ JROTC Cadets participated in many different fundraisers to help with funding the trip

Events Dates / Location / Cost When? 4 – 6 May 2017 Where?: Daytona Beach Florida Cost: $80 per cadet…covers all expenses (except morale event fees) Airfare Lodging (hotel) (4 cadets per room) Food (3 meals per day - $20 per diem) T-shirts, coins Air Force Polo with name embroidered

Itinerary Thurs, 4 June, 11am: Depart Career Center for Reagan Airport VA. Leave on AA Flight 2283 2:10 pm arriving Orlando at 4:37 pm. Will drive to from Orlando to Daytona Beach Arrive Daytona on/or about 6:00 pm. Staying at the Plaza Hotel – 600 N. Atlantic Ave. Daytona Beach – (844) 284-2685

Itinerary – cont. Fri, 5 May, team will compete at Ocean Center Arena with times TBD Sat, 6 May, team will participate in some sort of Morale Event (i.e. Universal Studios etc) Depart for Orlando Airport at 5:00 pm. Leave on AA Flight 1741 7:15 pm arriving Reagan Airport at 9:30 pm. Pick up cadets at Airport

Who’s Involved Colonel Dierlam & Chief Williams will be traveling with team as coaches Mrs. Adriana Lopez Vlaeminck will be our female chaperone 11 Team Members traveling

What Cadets Should Bring/Not Needed Leave at Home Alcohol, tobacco, drugs Weapons (of any kind) What to bring 1 Service Dress Blue Uniform 1pr athletic shoes 1pr shower shoes 1 White T-Shirts 1 pair black socks 2 pair athletic socks Undergarments Sleeping clothes 1 personal grooming kit Hygiene items Medication (APS requires Doctor authorization on Arlington County form) Extra money for meals and morale event
