2016 in Review Survey conducted in December 2016 Over 4,300 respondents Group Feedback 49% do not set a sales goal 59% did not use the Scout Popcorn website… therefore relied on information to flow from Councils ASM Feedback 71% talk about popcorn year round A number of comments mentioned improved communication from Scouts Canada this year

2016 in Review Youth Feedback Parent Feedback 60% spend between 1-5 hours fundraising Does your participation contribute to your goals and adventures? 55% yes 45% no Parent Feedback Are prizes/incentives important to participation? 45% not at all 21% a bit 59% not aware of scholarship program

What’s new and our goals How are we addressing top issues and stakeholder feedback? Product lineup, pricing and “look” (+tins) Reimagined national incentive program Increase availability of support materials Direct Group-level engagement Improved point of sale system Increase regional training for Councils and Groups Continue improvements to communication

Regional Seminars Increase regional training for Councils and Groups Similar to the Spring seminars conducted in pre-2015 The focus will be on sales techniques, how to run a great Kick Off and what is new for the 2017 campaign Who’s invited? Mainly for Council Coordinators however Groups will be encouraged to attend as well. There will be a e-blast for registration. When? Various locations across Canada from June 5th to June 17th

Incentive Program 45% of parents report that Scouts Canada’s current incentive program does not motivate their child Average sale per youth = $182 First threshold to reach incentive program in 2016 = $250 A new national incentive program that serves two purposes: Performance and goal-oriented rewards distributed on an on-going basis during the campaign. No required threshold and every youth is rewarded Rewards top performing youth (threshold $2,500) by engaging and providing recognition

Goal-oriented rewards Lanyard and buttons No threshold All youth are eligible Ship directly to Areas making them more accessible to Groups Included in Campaign kits shipped early June Goal-oriented prizes: First sale Top seller in your section Made a plan: made a plan on how you are going to reach your goal Reached your goal: set your goal and achieve it! Sold one of each: sold one of each product including a military donation Fill a sheet Weekly top performer: this can be set by the Group whether it’s most improved, highest fundraiser etc.

Incentive - Top sellers recognition program Scout Popcorn Adventure Club Reward and engages top selling youth nationally Provides recognition to not only to the top seller in Councils but to all youth who reach over $2,500 Quarterly gear box shipped direct to youth throughout the year All products in box can be found at Scout Shop Over $150 worth of gear every quarter Universally age appropriate …And cool!

Central Escarpment Council : Reached out to Groups to see who was interested in extra help to grow their sale.
