Adjectives modify only noun, pronouns, and linking verbs Adjectives modify only noun, pronouns, and linking verbs. Adjectives normally precede the noun they modify, or follow linking verbs. [DWS] Adj & Adv

Adverbs modify verbs (except the linking verbs), adjective, or other adverbs. Many descriptive adjectives can be changed to adverbs by adding –ly to the adjective base. [DWS] Adj & Adv
