What is FRW? Employee credentialing program that builds, tests, and scores job skills Free for all Florida residents, implementation partners, and employers Three key components: Courseware Assessments Florida Ready to Work Credential

Components Courseware Assessment Florida Ready to Work Credential Determine skill levels- “Placement Tests” Build skills- levels and lessons Assessment Proctored skills test Florida Ready to Work Credential Proves you have the needed skills for employment

Courseware Builds skill level in 3 core skill areas- AM, LI, RI Courseware usage improves performance on proctored assessments Self-paced study; begins with Placement Test Placement Test places participant in appropriate skill level Highly recommended- pass the Placement Test at level 3 or higher, OR work through level 3 in courseware and pass the level 3 Post Test with 80% or higher

Skill Areas Tested Applied Math Locating Information No memorizing formulas Critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and problem solving Locating Information Charts, graphs, tables, forms, diagrams, maps, instrument gauges, following directions, and logic patterns Reading for Information memos, letters, signs, notices, bulletins, policies, and regulations

Lockdown Browser All testing computers must have the lockdown browser installed Download instructions for installation are in the Technical Specifications Installation instructions for central push to all desktop computers, stand alone PCs, and MAC NOTE: Remember to do the Locked Browser Test located on the instruction sheet

Lockdown Browser Safe Guards Perform the Lockdown browser test using a proctor and student computer with your IT team Confirm that all required sites are whitelisted Make sure all testing computers have the lockdown browser (LDB) properly installed Chrome may work better for some locations

Participant Results Participant must click the SUBMIT button to end their test session. If the test times out, participant selects the submit button and the proctor MUST use the proctor exit option and the password is muppets Results are accessed by selecting Reporting Tools from the Proctor homepage. Outcome Best Practices and understand how to obtain support for the Florida Ready to Work system

Proctoring Tips Keep track of assessments given to participants. Clock shuts down the test for the participant when it times out. Provide scrap paper for Math. Collect at the end of testing. Nothing else on the computer workstation/desk. Participants that show up after the test has been started cannot be added; you may start a new test for them. Must do time extension immediately after you start the test.
