Who is Jesus to you? Memory verse: Matthew 16:16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Who is Jesus to you? This week Matthew Chapter 22 – 28 Memory verse: Matthew 28:19-20 Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and theach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the earth.

Who is Jesus to you? Matthew 16:13 Jesus went to the territory near the town of Caesarea Philippi, where he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 “Some say John the Baptist”, they answered. “Others say Elijah, while others say Jeremiah or some other prophet.” 15 “What about you?” he asked them. “Who do you say I am?”

Who is Jesus to you? 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God” 17 “Good for you, Simon son of John!” answered Jesus. “For this truth did not come to you from any human being, but it was given to you directly by my Father in heaven.

Who is Jesus to you? 18 And so I tell you, Peter: you are a rock and on this rock foundation I will build my church, and not even death will ever be able to overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven; what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

Who is Jesus to you? 15 “What about you?” he asked them. “Who do you say I am?”

Who is Jesus to you? Napoleon Bonaparte (French military and political leader) said of Jesus: "I know men," he said, "and Jesus Christ is more than a man."

Who is Jesus to you? Britain's Queen Elizabeth II The Servant Queen and the King she serves   "I have indeed seen His faithfulness,”

Who is Jesus to you? Peter was quite sure that Jesus was more than what his human eyes observed as just human but what he has experienced and see was a Godly revelation of the Messiah Son of the Living God

"You--what do you think of me who am I to you?" Who is Jesus to you? Our discovery of Jesus Christ must be a personal discovery. Jesus' question is: "You--what do you think of me who am I to you?"   Pilate asked him if he was the king of the Jews, Jesus said: "Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about me?" (Jn.18:33-34).

Who is Jesus to you? Is He for you a God of love? The Pharisees and teachers of the law it was not a love relationship but a relationship through the law.

Who is Jesus to you? William Barclay: “What matters to God is not so much how we act, but why we act; not so much what we actually do, but what we wish in our heart of hearts to do. Human sees the deed, but God sees the intention.”

Who is Jesus to you? ii) Is He for you, your provider?   Matthew 15:30 Large crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the dumb, and many other sick people, whom they placed at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them. 31 The people were amazed as they saw the dumb speaking, the crippled made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they praised the God of Israel.

Who is Jesus to you? 32 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I feel sorry for these people, because they have been with me for three days and now have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away without feeding them, for they might faint on their way home.”

Who is Jesus to you? iii) Is He somebody that you can trust (have faith in)?   Matthew 15:22 A Canaanite woman who lived in that region came to him. “Son of David!” she cried out. “Have mercy on me, sir! My daughter has a demon and is in a terrible condition.”

Who is Jesus to you? First Jesus did not answer her, seems He just ignore her “I have been sent only to the lost sheep of the people of Israel.” “It isn’t right to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs.” “You are a woman of great faith! What you want will be done for you.” And at that very moment her daughter was healed.

Who is Jesus to you? Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 for everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock.”

Who is Jesus to you? Who is Christ to you?   Is He concern about your relationships? Is He worried about your marriage? Jesus answered, “Moses gave you permission to divorce your wives because you are so hard to teach. But it was not like that at the time of creation. (Matthew 19:8)

Who is Jesus to you? His desire is that it will be well with our children.    Matthew 19:13 Some people brought children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and to pray for them, but the disciples scolded the people. 14 Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Who is Jesus to you? Matthew 18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, asking, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?” 2 So Jesus called a child, made him stand in front of them, 3 and said, “I assure you that unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven. 4 The greatest in the Kingdom of heaven is the one who humbles himself and becomes like this child.

Who is Jesus to you? 5 And whoever welcomes in my name one such child as this, welcomes me. 6 “If anyone should cause one of these little ones to lose his faith in me, it would be better for that person to have a large millstone tied round his neck and drowned in the deep see.”

Who is Jesus to you?  God is a God of relationships   He commanded: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” (Mat 22:39) He shows us what forgiveness is Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came to Jesus asked, “Lord, if my brother keeps on sinning against me, how many times do I have to forgive him? Seven times” “No, not seven,” answered Jesus, “but seventy times seven,”

Who is Jesus to you? He shows how to serve   Matthew 20:26 This, however, is not the way it shall be among you. If one of you wants to be great, he must be the servant of the rest; 27 and if one of you wants to be first, he must be your slave – 28 like the Son of Man, who did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life to redeem many people.

Who is Jesus to you? John 13:14 I, your Lord and Teacher, have just washed your feet. You, then, should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set an example for you, so that you will do just what I have done for you.

Who is Jesus to you? Matthew 21:8 A large crowd of people spread their cloaks on the road while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds walking in front of Jesus and those walking behind began to shout, ‘Praise to David’s Son! God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God!”

Who is Jesus to you? 10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was thrown into an uproar. “Who is he?” the people asked. 11 This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee, the crowds answered.
