“Make Me Clean” Mat. 8:1-4; Mk. 1:40-45; Lk. 5:12-16

(Luke 5:12) And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean." (NKJV)

(Leviticus 13:44-46) "he is a leprous man. He is unclean. The priest shall surely pronounce him unclean; his sore is on his head. "Now the leper on whom the sore is, his clothes shall be torn and his head bare; and he shall cover his mustache, and cry, 'Unclean! Unclean!' "He shall be unclean. All the days he has the sore he shall be unclean. He is unclean, and he shall dwell alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp. (NKJV)

Cleansed… Leper cleansed because he followed Jesus

Cleansed… Leper cleansed because he followed Jesus Leper was not cleansed until after he worshipped Jesus.

(Mark 1:44) and said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them." (NKJV)

Because he followed Jesus Not cleansed until after he worshipped Jesus. Because He placed God’s will before his own. Cleansed after submitting to the Lord’s will. Cleansed because Jesus cared for him. Jesus is able and willing to cleanse, if our attitude is right. (John 4:23) "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. (NKJV)

Cleansed because Jesus cared for him. Jesus is able and willing to cleanse, if our attitude is right. Your Behavior Influences Others When we do things contrary to the will of our Lord, we undermine God’s purpose and plan.

(Mark 1:45) However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction. (NKJV)
