Global Board & Investors Leadership In Action October 6, 2013

Time to End Hunger The UN and World Bank are saying the end of hunger can be realized by 2030. We know it will take unswerving commitment and innovation which are two keystones of The Hunger Project.

Progress to Date In 1977, over 30,000 children under 5 were dying each day due to hunger. 35 years later, that has declined by more than 70 % to fewer than 8,500. In the last 20 years, the # of hungry people has declined by 132 million people, from 18.6 to 12.5 % of the world’s population.

Nutrition is Key THP programs have committed to implementation of nutrition actions that are at the very foundation of the future of developing societies. This is an issue of primary importance for women and economies.

Models of Excellence We are documenting and using our best work as models of excellence for sustainable development.

Sharing our Strategy THP will use an “open source” model of free, universal access to our work, sharing our methods, results, challenges & lessons learned. We invite Governments, NGO’s and people everywhere to learn and adopt our integrated model, or any part of it, that is beneficial for the end of hunger.

Amplifying our Message If we are to stop being the world’s “best kept secret” & raise our visibility, we must: Articulate our vision in multiple media Increase volunteers to help fundraise by engaging with current & new investors

Next Actions Lead THP learning conferences in US, Europe and Australia in 2014 – 2015 as well as in Program Countries Build our natural networks and “tribes” to grow and renew our movement Simplify our message to reflect our program “smarts” and strength
