Abortion Crisis 12,000 abortions annually in Broward County About one out of every 3 pregnancies ends in abortion in Broward. At least 10 abortion facilities in Broward

What is it? 40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to end abortion through prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach.

Proven Results • 625,000 participants • 16,500 churches • 3,039 local campaigns • 539 cities • 24 countries • 8,973 lives saved • 101 workers quit • 56 clinics closed

Prayer and Fasting Prayer is at the center of 40 Days for Life. During each campaign, we are calling on people of faith across the nation … and around the world … to fall on their knees before the Lord, asking Him to hear our plea and heal our land.

Peaceful Vigil The visible, public centerpiece of 40 Days for Life is a focused, 40-day prayer vigil outside a single abortion facility in our community.

Community Outreach Raising awareness through sidewalk vigil and by communicating with family, friends, church members, business associates, media, etc., about the injustice of abortion.

Mission The mission of the campaign is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity during a focused 40 day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful activism, with the purpose of repentance, to seek God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion.

Vigil Site Fort Lauderdale Women's Center at 2001 W. Oakland Park Blvd. Open six days a week, from 9 am to 4 or 5 pm; abortions up to 24 weeks, both chemical and surgical. Challenge We are concerned that there is not more protest, outcry, or activism in regard to these issues of life and death…. Surely those who call themselves Christians, having a moral base, should make these things a principal issue and be willing, even at the risk of personal sacrifice , to strive privately and publicly for the dignity and sanctity of the individual. -Francis Schaeffer, C. Everett Koop, Whatever Happened to the Human Race?, 1983
