Forecasting: Step by Step Fill out Forecasting Sheet. Research classes. Get signatures from your parents and teachers. Use Course Planning Guide for help. Meet with your counselor as needed. Turn in form by due date. Enter class choices online.

StudentVue You MUST know your StudentVue USERNAME and PASSWORD in order to forecast! If you don’t have one or both of these you must go to the main office and request this before your forecasting day.

What to Consider When Forecasting Graduation Requirements General University Requirements Honor Roll & NCAA Requirements Special Programs offered to GHS students: International Baccalaureate (IB) CAL AVID

Graduation Credit Requirements Language Arts 4.00 Social Studies 3.00 Math 3.00 Science 3.00 Physical Ed 1.00 Health 1.00 Career/Fine Arts/Tech 3.00 /World Language Electives 6.00 Total Credits Required: 24

How many classes do I take? Freshmen = 7 classes Sophomores = 7 classes Juniors take at least 6 classes. Seniors take at least 4 classes.

General University Requirements A minimum grade of “C” in core courses 4 years of English 3 years of Mathematics - (including Algebra 2) 3 years of Science 3 years of Social Studies 2 years of the same World Language 16 academic credits in core subject areas .5 credit in a Visual/Performing Fine Arts class is recommended

Additional College Requirements Minimum GPA (grade point average) for admission: 3.00 for U of O (review process) 3.00 OSU, PSU, OIT, SOU 2.75 for EOU, WOU Universities also require ACT/SAT test scores.

Honor Roll & Athletics Honor Roll requires 6 graded classes. Any class taken for Pass/No Pass credit will not count. Participating in Athletics requires passing 5 graded classes. For NCAA eligibility: Need 16 Core Credits Register with NCAA Junior Year See Athletic Director for Questions.

International Baccalaureate (IB) IB classes are the most challenging courses offered at GHS for Juniors and Seniors. IB Program Options: Earn a full IB diploma Take 4 years of a World Language Take IB Tests and Earn college credit Take one or more IB classes in strong subject area NOTE: Students can forecast for IB classes during the sophomore year. Forecasting Sheet Fill in personal info at top of sheet. Mark classes with an “X.” Mark Alternates in order: A1, A2, A3. Plan for 7 seven credits! Classes in Bold need teacher signatures. Discuss with Parent/guardian and sign!

Choosing CORE Classes For ENGLISH, MATH, SCIENCE & SOCIAL STUDIES: CONSULT WITH YOUR TEACHERS TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CLASSES! TEACHERS WILL LOOK OVER FORMS AND SIGN USE THE COURSE PLANNING GUIDE FOR HELP!

Electives Remember Teacher Aides: Choose electives carefully! Changes are hard to make! Grades in electives DO MATTER! Remember Teacher Aides: One period per semester Mark sheet: pick up aide form in the fall Cannot aide during teacher’s prep time
