What is the C.A.S.E Program C – Civic A – and S – Service E – Education CASE will be a student's link to volunteer and internships throughout the triad area. Whether looking for flexible community service or "real world" experience to compliment academic learning, CASE is the link between the student and local organizations. What is the C.A.S.E. Program C.A.S.E. recognizes students' changing needs as they grow and learn through their years of matriculation. What is Service Learning? Service-learning is a teaching method that engages students in solving problems within their schools and communities as part of their academic studies or other type of intentional learning activity. Service-learning helps students master important curriculum content by supporting their making meaningful connections between what they are studying and its many applications. Service Learning is NOT? An episodic volunteer program An add-on to an existing school or college curriculum Logging a set number of community service hours in order to graduate Compensatory service assigned as a form of punishment by the courts or by school administrators Only for high school or college students One-sided: benefiting only students or only the community Murphy Hall, Suite 104 336.334.7792 case@ncat.edu
