Affordable Universal TranWare Case Study The Challenge The trend of compatibility with the tablets and smart phones has become a challenge to the traditional taximeters; passengers today also expect credit or debit card payments. Taximeters communicate over serial port; while most tablets and smart phones offer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Universal TranWare needed to find a solution that integrates tablets or smart phones with credit and debit card processing with the ability to fully control a taximeter.
