Folders Coming Home PINK or TEAL Folder: Please sign and return this folder daily as it contains a behavior report, reading log and school information. The behavior report is not color coded. It follows the behavior system Green, pink, & white=  Super (very top)= Blue or red= phone call and/or note in the folder

Behavior Expectations We follow the SOAR expectations as a school. Safe On task Academic Achiever Respectful In the hallway & the restrooms the voice level is zero. We also practice being responsible.

(Homework) And Working at Home

Homework We are giving formal homework! Websites to visit at home: Please read every night for at least 30 minutes. Additionally, spend time as a family because it helps your child be successful at school! Websites to visit at home: IXL.com* MyOn.com* Reflex.com* *More information coming!

Working Together At Home Please encourage your child to read for 20 to 30 minutes everyday and sign the reading log. Discuss the book & the reading response with your child Please work with your child on weekly homework Discuss how we use math and reading in everyday life. Have fun working with your child!

Working Together At Home Visit the school library! Families may have their own library card to use in Farine’s library! Check out up to 10 books at a time! Visit the Irving city libraries!

(Dismissal) Safety is always first!

Dismissal Your child’s safety is our first priority & is the reason for our procedures set in place. Please make sure your child knows who they are going home with and who it is “safe” to go home with. Send a NOTE with your child if someone different will be picking them up; or if they are being picked up a different way. In the event of an emergency, the office must be notified if we are to release your child to someone else.

Car Riders Release from the north gym Must have a car tag number assigned to the student The number must be visible on the students’ backpack Its provided by the teacher & we’re working on more aesthetically pleasing tags.  Please make sure your student knows their number. This will assist in a quicker dismissal. 

Walkers Release from the designated area for second grade. Please be patient & allow your child to notify the teacher that they are leaving. Remember, safety is first! We are working on a safer, more efficient system so stay tuned!

Bus & Daycare Please notify Mrs. Moreno & I of any changes in their daycare or bus information. The office must be notified of any changes.

(School) & (District) (Policies)

Snacks in the Classroom All students are provided a snack It is their choice to eat it or not Please make sure your student is aware of any possible food allergies Snacks accommodate most food allergies but just to be safe make sure your child is aware of what they can & cannot eat. We eat snack around 10:00am!

Dress Code Collared shirt (polo style): long or short sleeve in the following colors: white, light blue, navy blue, hunter green, or red Sweaters: white, light blue, navy blue, or hunter green Bottoms: Navy or Khaki pants, shorts and for girls: skirts, jumpers, and skorts Every Monday students may wear a college shirt with uniform bottoms EVERY Friday students may wear a Farine spirit shirt with uniform bottoms

Badges Students must wear a badge at all times during school hours. All badges will stay at school. Each student receives 2 free badge reprints. The third reprint costs $2 for all students.

Class Parties & Birthday Celebrations Our class will have 2 parties: Christmas and Valentine’s Day We invite parent donations and support!  Birthday Celebrations Please follow the Irving ISD food guidelines http://www.irvingisd.net/Page/1698 Food must be purchased & not made in the same location with any tree nuts Any food is given before dismissal but eaten at home

Medications Medications must be in their original containers. You must include a written note detailing instructions All medications must be kept with the nurse until it time to take them. (This includes cough drops)

(Parent) (Conferences)

Parent Conferences Conferences take place during the 2nd six weeks We want to meet with all of our students’ parents We will send home conference time choices closer to the 2nd six weeks.

(Volunteers) You rock!

PTO Join PTO! PTO provides many things for your child’s classroom PTO offers monthly meetings and programs 100% participation requested

Volunteering Sign up with the Parent Liaison in the front office Please fill out a volunteer form in the classroom When visiting the school, please sign-in at the office and wear a visitor badge at all times Anyone wishing to volunteer in the classroom (this includes field trips) MUST have a completed and approved Criminal History Form on file
