Physical Education Grading Policy   Students grade in physical education will be evaluated on a daily basis by the instructor. Daily grades will be determined by combining the points earned, up to a maximum of ten points, from each of two major components that make up the focus of the class: Warm up- (5) points, and curriculum activity- (5) points. When determining the points earned within each component, the following criterion will be utilized: Displays cooperative behavior for the entire class Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the activity Punctual Demonstrates highest level of effort during the entire component Follows all class procedures and safety protocols Student is wearing the appropriate PE attire

Grading Policy continued 5 points - Student meets all five criteria, actively participates for the entire class, and is wearing appropriate PE attire.   4 points- Student meets four of five criteria, actively participates for the entire class, and is wearing appropriate PE attire. 3 points- Student meets three of five criteria, actively participates for the entire class, and is 2 points- Student meets two out of five criteria, actively participates for the entire class, and is or Student meets all four criteria, actively participates for the entire class, and is wearing partial PE attire 1 point- Student meets one out of five criteria. 0 points- Student does not meet any of the criteria. Student does not participate in class.

Grading Percentages 80% will be the average of daily grades 20% will be attendance, attitude, cooperation and preparedness   Students who are absent must make an appointment with their instructor to receive credit for missed time. The appointment must be made within two weeks of the student’s absence or remediation privileges are forfeited. Absences not made up within the allotted timeframe will become an automatic F. Students are not permitted to make up classes if they elect to sit out and not participate.

Physical Education Attire Student must have on the following appropriate clothing: T-shirt with sleeves and not containing inappropriate writing Sweatshirt without hood Mesh gym shorts-finger tip length Sneakers with backing and must be tied Sweat pants/warm-up pants/jacket   Students are not allowed the following: Ipods Cell Phones iPads in the gym unless instructed to bring to class Hats or head covering Hooded sweat shirts Shorts/pants with zippers, cargo pockets, chains, loops, writing across the backside Tank tops, half shirts or muscle shirts **If a student is not dressed appropriately for class, the highest point value that can be attained in either component is a three.

Locker room Procedures   Before Class: Teacher will meet students in locker room and supervise. After all students are prepared, everyone will proceed to the gym. The locker room door will be locked after the last student exits. Students must have a lock for their belongings and bring it to every PE class and take with them after class is done. After Class: Teacher will accompany students to locker room and supervise. Students are to remain in the locker room until the bell rings and exit out the back doors only. AT NO TIME ARE STUDENTS TO BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE EARLY. If a student leaves early without permission: THEY WILL RECEIVE AN FAILING GRADE FOR THAT DAY

Physical Education Absentee Make Ups A student must make up any absences they obtain. Any absence not made up will result in a failing grade. A student must attend two after school sessions for each absence they have. Students must change into PE attire for each make up. They may not wear school clothes. - PE make up sessions will be every Wednesday from 2:35pm-3:05pm in the Cardio Room. Students have two weeks from absence to make an appointment for a make up session

Cell phone and iPad Policy for Wellness and Physical Education Students are asked to keep both phones and iPads securely tucked away throughout the duration of the class period unless otherwise noted. Students in violation of this policy will have their device removed by a dean with parent notification.
