INAD 2017 - The EAA proposal presented to EU Commission in August 2016 EAA plans to organize a wide campaign in order to raise the interest of the European citizens towards noise and its bad effects on the quality of life and their health. It is the purpose of the EAA to collaborate with the European Commission (in particular the DG-Environment) and the European Environment Agency for promoting and coordinating specialized activities during this year, among EAA Member Societies, European and National authorities, associations, schools, museums, etc. in order that a wide audience gets the most accurate and scientifically correct information on noise effects.

MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL INAD 2017 - The EAA proposal MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP Organization of a SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP to be held in Brussels. The speakers of the workshop will include EU officers and selected scientists. The purpose of the workshop will be to discuss an update of the European Legislation on noise, the presentation of results of individual studies related to noise reduction measures in association with EU and National legislation and the definition of a road-map to the future. This workshop could be live broadcasted (web TV, streaming,…. )

MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL INAD 2017 - The EAA proposal MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL B. DEDICATED WEBPAGE Development of a web-page dedicated to INAD 2017. This will be used as the central point for the dissemination of the information about the events of the INAD 2017. The web-page will be coordinated by EAA and will be updated by National Coordinators with materials and information about individual initiatives.

MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL INAD 2017 - The EAA proposal MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL C. INTERACTIVE APP Development of an interactive application for the young people, mounted in the INAD 2017 website and distributed among the National Societies. This application aims at teaching and informing the young people about: bad effects of noise, noise production and propagation, measuring and understanding noise levels, effects of noise on human health but also with suggestions for noise reduction at the source and the receiving areas. This application will be supplemented by any possible additional material such as cartoons, games etc.

INAD 2017 - The EAA proposal D. PROMO PRESENTATION MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU AND NATIONAL LEVEL D. PROMO PRESENTATION Development of a presentation that should be shown in all conferences, workshops, etc. (including FORUM ACUSTICUM Boston 2017 and all the National Conferences). The presentation will be translated in all languages of the EU countries. E. EVENTS IN MUSEUMS Collaboration with educational institutions, agencies and museums around Europe (for instance Natural History Museums) aiming at the organization of specialized small workshops open to the public, in which specialists on noise from EU and EAA member societies will present talks on noise awareness.

MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL INAD 2017 - The EAA proposal MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL F. PAN-EUROPEAN COMPETITION Organization of two pan-european competitions for students and classes of primary and secondary schools respectively. Examples of subject of the competition can be: “Soundmark of my place (audio + picture)”, “Noise Super-hero”, “Invent a silent game” . G. NOISE AND SOUND MAILBOXES Students will be invited to send “letters” with news, personal comments, information about good soundscapes and noisy situation derived by every day experience. Special “Mail-Boxes” for good and bad sounds will be set in schools all along the school year and opened some days before April 2017. A selection of the collected letters will be read on April 26th, published in the INAD 2017 web-page. Students can also upload their letters or applications including sound files through the INAD 2017 app and web-page.

MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL INAD 2017 - The EAA proposal MAIN EVENTS ORGANIZED AT EU LEVEL H. DEDICATED TV PROGRAMS Coordination of news and dedicated TV programs (involving National Broadcasting Companies) with reports from experts on noise control as well as live connections with schools of different countries, to present joint activities. This action will be coordinated with the European Commission. I. CENTRAL CULTURAL EVENT Organization of a central cultural event (a Concert) to be live broadcasted to all European Countries on April 26th 2017. J. SCREENING OF “IN PURSUIT OF SILENCE” The screening has to be decided in collaboration with the producers. http://pursuitofsilence.com/home Additional activities will be organized according to the available resources.

INAD 2017 - EAA Coordinators The coordination of the activities will be undertaken by the EAA Board and a special committee consisting of the following persons: • Michael Taroudakis (current President of EAA) • Brigitte Schulte-Fortkamp (next Vice President of EAA) • Sergio Luzzi (Product Manager of EAA Documenta) • Antonio Perez-Lopez (Director of the EAA office) The committee will be assisted by National representatives and contact persons nominated by the EAA National Societies.

Methodologies fOr Noise low emission Zones introduction And management LIFE15 ENV/IT/000586 MONZA Methodologies fOr Noise low emission Zones introduction And management One of the main project’s objectives of the Monza project, is to involve the population in an active management system of lifestyle choices. Schools and residential areas are identified as privileged stakeholders of the project. Among disseminations activities: Task D1.3 Information and awareness raising activities to the general public Participation of Monza Municipality at 2017,2018,2019 Noise awareness day. Each year Monza Municipality will decide how to involve citizens (schools, workplaces,…)

LIFE15 ENV/IT/000586 MONZA Actions and Awareness Methodologies fOr Noise low emission Zones introduction And management Actions and Awareness During the Noise Awareness day of April 2017 meetings will be organized in the nursery, the primary and in the two high schools located in the pilot case area (Libertà district) to raise awareness in students about a sustainable home–school mobility system. In the high schools a contest (for creating a new identifying logo for noise LEZ will be launched. The logo will be engraved on the paving of the streets of Libertà district after the interventions implementation Good practices will be implemented in a “game”. In the nursery/primary schools other educational and participatory activities are planned.
