3. Conclusion & Outlook The EU w/ 27 MS, and 500 Million Citizens is on the way to harmonize cross border services. Many EU Units and DG’s are involved in such programs, like JRC, ENISA, DG INFSO, DG Employer, FRONTEX, IDABC, ICT for Government… A key requirement is technical interoperability. More than €200 Million funding form EC are on the way. Many application aspects are on the EU roadmap: e-Tachograph, e-Vehicle, Registration, eID, e-Health, e-EHIC, e-Residence Permit, Biometric Passport, e-Social. The security industry should foster international application standards, like ICAO 9303, ISO/IEC 18013, CEN TC 215 and support interoperability tests as well as field trial tests and feasibility test. A long term cooperation on these programs is requested from the security industry. 10.02.2010
